Before the incident

Teammate was in the process of loading the tilt table at A1 press. The teammate removed the chain and started letting the gate down. In the same motion as the gate was being let down the teammate reached for the toggle switch. The teammates initial attempt to engage the toggle switch was unsuccessful. He made another attempt to engage the toggle switch by sliding his hand across the frame to contact the switch. In doing so his hand slid too close to the gate while still in motion resulting in his ringer finger on his right hand getting pinched.

What happened

EE removed the chain and started letting the gate down. In the same motion as the gate was being let down the teammate reached for the toggle switch. The toggle switch controls the air driven block that prevents extrusions from advancing forward. The EE initial attempt to engage the toggle switch was unsuccessful. He made another attempt to engage the toggle switch by sliding his hand across the frame to contact the switch. In doing so his hand slid too close to the gate while still in motion resulting in his ringer finger on his right hand getting pinched.
