Employee was reaching into the machine to pull the boxes out that were misaligned.

What happened

Team Member was loading corrugated into the ABC Box Machine when the new stack went into the elevator part of the machine 3 pieces of corrugate fell out the bottom on the right side. The Team Member used the cycle stop button to stop the machine but did not lock out the equipment. When Team Member braced their hand against the stack while pulling out the loose pieces the support arm sprung towards the top of the right hand and in the team members words hit with the force of a hammer. Team Member said it didn 't hurt much afterward but as the day progressed it started swelling and it started hurting. Approximately [REDACTED] after the incident I was standing in the area where the incident took place when the Team Member came over to me and let me know they hurt their hand in the machine and was going to get it checked out the next day.
