[REDACTED] was slicing meats with the deli slicer he stated his hand slipped and he sliced off the tip of his thumb I was on the opposite side of the kitchen and he immediately notified me I immediately applied pressure to the area asked where and how the incident occured asked how he was feeling and ensured he maintained cognitive sense in his hand There was not a lot of blood but it was a cut that would not stop bleeding I had him sit down and asked he remain calm as he was excited over the incident [REDACTED] 10 minutes the bleeding did not stop We assessed options and since urgent care was not available I notified my immediate manager [REDACTED] and arranged a taxi ride to the emergency room for [REDACTED] The situation was too urgent to wait for urgent care but was not an immediate emergency where he could not maintain his faculties He required transport and would have driven himself but did not drive [REDACTED] I explained to him steps to ensure he arrived at the hospital safely
