Drywall Partition Demolition

[REDACTED] SPO laborer [REDACTED] was working to demolish a drywall partition. The process involved cutting the wall into manageable sections with a reciprocating saw and placing the sections in a gondola for removal to the dumpster. Many such walls contain rigid metal conduits within the wall 's cavity. The conduits and anything else in the wall cavity get cut as well as the metal stud framing and drywall. [REDACTED] was attempting to break the last section of wall free from the concrete floor slab by exerting physical force in a back-and-forth motion. There were several metal conduits that had been cut approximately 3 1 2 feet above the floor within that section of wall. During the process [REDACTED] 's right forearm grazed the sharp cut end of the top of the conduit. This caused a laceration to his forearm. [REDACTED] was not wearing the required Kevlar sleeves to protect his arms but he was wearing cut level 4 gloves.

Skin Injury

Rigid Metal Conduit

Laceration to right forearm requiring four sutures
