Cleaning the dock using a skid steer.

While operating a skid steer to clean the dock during RCA material loadout the employee noticed the material handler operator attempting to alert a third-party dump-body truck driver that the vehicle’s rear tailgate was open. The operator had made multiple attempts to gain the driver’s attention including sounding the horn and using hand signals from the dock. The employee exited the skid steer to assist the driver in closing the tailgate. During the process the employee’s left thumb became caught in the tailgate track body resulting in a pinched finger injury.
