Before the incident
The team was on a shutdown gun run on lower [REDACTED] The team went to turn off their second one of the HKDs at [REDACTED] 3[REDACTED] EE 1 turned off the water thought the air was already off and went to detach the hoses from the gun it is taught to detach from the hydrant The air was still on and with the hose still attached at the hydrant this caused the bull hose to whip around wildly striking EE [REDACTED] in the right knee EE [REDACTED] was knocked to the ground where the bull hose struck him several more times before he was able to get to safety The hose ended up getting stuck in between the gun and EE 3 was able to turn the air off safely EE 1and 3 were able to get EE [REDACTED] to safe spot to be checked out by ski patrol who reccomended that EE [REDACTED] go in for further evaluation Xrays showed no break only contused knee and EE [REDACTED] was able to return to work on modified duty the following day
