Before the incident
The employee was helping elevate and lift a ramp while preparing to unload a truck. The forklift operator was attempting to lift the flap of the ramp as part of the unloading process.
What happened
While the employee was lifting the flap the weight of the ramp shifted unexpectedly. The movement caused the flap to come down onto the operators hands resulting in cuts to two fingers on each hand. The ramp also fell toward the operators foot but steel?toed boots prevented injury
