What happened
4 RNs were assisting in the transfer of patient from stretcher to bed. Patient was confused highly anxious and restless. Patient kept lifting arms as we are preparing to transfer from stretcher to bed. This RN reminded patient to please keep arms down during the transfer for safety. As we were transferring patient from stretcher to bed patient abruptly lifted arms and subsequently hit this RN on the right side of jaw. It did not seem intentional as patient was confused.
