While performing my regular duties I sustained a chemical burn to my left palm specifically between my thumb and the middle of my palm with the affected area forming a line extending toward my right pinky. The injury occurred while I was unloading and reloading cassettes from the STERRAD [REDACTED] which contains a 58 hydrogen peroxide solution. I have performed this task before and was never informed that gloves or additional personal protective equipment were required for safety during this process. As I was unloading one of the cassettes some of the chemical solution accidentally came into contact with my left hand. Initially my hand appeared fine but shortly afterward I began to feel a burning sensation. When I looked at my palm the affected area had turned completely white and was extremely painfulsimilar to being stung by multiple bees. I immediately sought medical attention in the Emergency Department. I was instructed to rinse my hand thoroughly with water and to avoid scratchi
