The mobile maintenance technician and shipping operator were assisting contractors with the installation of a Volvo wheel loader boom to a fork attachment frame

The shipping operator attempted to install the securement pin but was unable to do so. Once the park brake had been applied the shipping operator placed his hands through the pad eyes to troubleshoot when the wheel loader boom unexpectedly shifted pinching the shipping operators right index finger between the pad eyes.
