Touched patient to feel for pulse due to performing an ABG grabbed abg needle to uncap it and needle with cap cam off abg syringe when I tried to uncap needle resulted in a jilting motion and proceeded to stab into my left thumb when needle was removed thumb stared bleeding freely until I applied pressure with my opposite hand after putting needle into sharps container
