What happened
While unloading wall panels from a trailer using a forklift the employee was injured when a piece of dunnage became dislodged from the stack he was lowering with a forklift. It struck his left middle finger which was resting on the steering wheel resulting in a mashing injury with an open wound to the fingertip.
