What happened
Fingertip Amputation: The team member was adjusting the position of a child roll to be ran on [REDACTED] Salvage [REDACTED] by aligning with the core chuck. The team member was using his left hand to move the child roll by the core and was holding the control pendant in his right hand. As he pulled on the core he accidentally engaged the core chuck and it closed into the core catching his left middle finger and severing the fingertip between the two outermost knuckles. The team member was stabilized by in house response personnel and transported to the emergency room by ambulance. The end of his finger was removed and he was released on light duty.
