Employee was sweeping in resident 's kitchen when she noticed something blue behind resident 's trash can. Employee swept the item onto carpeted area to vacuum up the item. When the piece looked too big to vacuum up employee picked it up off the ground not realizing it was actually a needle. The needle stuck into employee 's left index finger and began to bleed.
