Improperly lifting a lamp post from a skid. Associate states he tried to use his legs but admits to using more back than necessary.

Associate bent down to pick up a lamp post from a skid (attached) and felt an immediate pain in the right side of their back. The pain reached down to his right leg shortly after. The associate sat down as safety evaluated him. Safety and management decided to take him to NOVA care. Safety called NOVA care and informed them of the situation. NOVA care advised that the associate be taken to the emergency room under the conditions described. The associate was taken to the ER.
