Removing drain line flange from bottom of cbase reactor moving out of area to avoid slurry

Employee was dumping cbase reactor 1 during an emergency shutdown Shook out the dump hose to check for slurry draining out found none Started to remove the flange attaching the hose collar to the underside of the reactor As he was loosening the last bolt slurry began to run out of the reactor He was hit in the face neck and upper body and quickly moved away from the reactor When he jumped from the platform to the floor to exit through the doorway he felt a couple pops in his knee He crawled the rest of the way out to clear the slurry still draining Employee sustained some burns on the upper arms from the hot slurry and was unable to bear weight on his knee Employee was taken by plant vehicle to the ER for evaluation
