Doing Replenishment on a Reach Truck
What happened
A Team Member was dumping trash into the door# 49 compactor using a Reach truck. The person had a pallet with a gaylord full of trash on the forks. The person elevated the pallet to match the height of the compactor gate.They proceed to trip the gaylord over the gate into the compactor by hand. The gaylord became unbalanced and tripped back. The person’s left hand was between the gaylord and the backrest of the Reach truck. The persons left index finger came in contact with a sharp edge on the backrest. This caused an approx. ½ inch laceration.
