Before the incident
Moving patient from chair to bed.
What happened
Patient was sitting bedside after pivoting from chair with walker gait belt and additional staff member and Patient wanted to lay back in bed. When he did he couldn 't lift his feet onto the bed and yelled out that his back was hurting. I quickly bent over to help him move his legs into the bed and when I helped lift his legs I immediately felt pain in my back. Once patients legs were in the bed I then helped reposition boost patient up and felt the pain again.
