Picking up the sharps on my cart to put in sharps container

I had used a push button butterfly on the patient and was unable to obtain blood. I had pushed the activation button that retracts the needle and placed on my cart to dispose of when done. I then used a syringe with needle and was able to get the blood. As I was picking up the butterfly I felt a prick to my right middle finger. I had gloves on and did not see any blood at first. When I squeezed the finger then I saw a trace of blood come out.
