Retrieving patient Blood Glucose
What happened
I was in Patient room to retrieve patient blood glucose. A Lab Technician came into patients room to draw blood. After blood draw Lab Technician advised me to use site at which blood was drawn for blood glucose test. CNA leaned in to retrieve blood sample however Technician was holding drawn needle in right hand and the needle poked the CNA left ring finger. Blood began to show threw the glove. Technician was advised that the needle had pierced CNA gloved hand. Nurse and Charge Nurse notified of incident.
