Before the incident
Replacing an oil hose that was leaking.
What happened
The hose was hard and brittle and the employee was unable to remove the hose fitting. He clamped the hose in a vice and heated it to try to soften it. Due to the hose being covered in oil when the employee went to cut the hose fitting off the hose the knife slipped causing the laceration.
