Worker was replacing and tightening the lower mounting bolts when the gap that was there closed due to gravity.

Employee was working on the East Pg vertical hydraulic cylinder. Employee attempted to repair the actuator that vertically positions the sanding wheel up against the steel back that had become loose from sanding vibrations. When the bolts loosened and the sanding unit bound to the support post and allowed a gap between the actuator mounting plate and the support post. Employee inadvertently had their finger in the gap and while replacing and tightening the lower mounting bolts the gap closed under the weight of the unit. The employees index finger of their left hand was pinched creating a laceration near the middle knuckle.
