The associate was in the process of starting up the [REDACTED] extrusion laminator. As the assistant the associate was responsible for holding back the poly curtain to prevent poly from getting on the laminator nip roller.

During the process of bringing in the carriage the associate placed their left hand too close to the nip point and their hand was pulled into the machine.

The associate suffered lacerations and three broken fingers on their left hand as the result of the contact with the machinery.

The nip roller and chill roller create a nip point when the machine is operating. The associate 's hand coming into contact between these two rollers resulted in the injury.

Associate broke three fingers on their left hand after making contact with moving parts of the extruder laminator.
