I wanted to report an incident that occurred on [REDACTED] that involved one of our employees while working on the Dart Test Machines. This machine is used to evaluate the impact resistance and durability of plastic films and packaging. During her shift the machine stopped working and the employee contacted the maintenance team for assistance. The mechanic was able to fix the machine but made some adjustments to the drop button relocating it to a different position. When the employee returned to use the machine she unintentionally placed her hand differently due to the button 's new location. While pressing the drop-down button her left thumb was caught by a metal piece that holds the plastic together. She quickly moved her finger out and informed the lead on shift. She requested to go to the clinic because she was in a lot of pain.
