Before the incident
Maintenance had the task of replacing the mechanical seal on the Shear mixer (post homogenizer) in Line 5 brew deck. The electrical to the mixer was locked out.
What happened
[REDACTED] was opening a second pipe connection thinking the hot water was drained out. When the pipe came apart hot water shot out and hit him in the legs. The first pipe opening only took care of hot water in one of the two vertical pipe legs. He was standing in the line of fire when the second pipe connection was broken. Supervisor took him to the recovery room and called Workcare. He went home with a few blisters and will get a call [REDACTED] from the nurse. Burn cream and gauze were sent home with him.. Update: Elevated to a clinic visit - [REDACTED]
