phlebotomy blood draw

Patient is a mentally handicapped patient with a caretaker present with him. Lab staff was warned that we needed to have 2 assists by DOS. So Staff drew that patient 's blood EE held the patients left arm and patients caretaker held the patients ' right arm. Patients caretaker informed us that the patient will scream. Staff poked the patient patient immediately started screaming loudly. The right arm was getting loose from caretaker 's hold and then patient was standing up from in the draw-chair. Patient right arm got loose and he grabbed EE 's left wrist patient had a tight lock grip on it. EE was trying to restrain the patient so that Staff could take the needle out of the patient 's arm without getting a needle stick. Once Staff got the needle taken out we were trying to put gauze on the bleeding site at this time we had 2 more lab staff helping control the situation. Patient ran out the draw room with his caretaker and Staff chased them down the hallway to give them the urine sampl
