Operating using equipment

I was heading back to the lab from drawing blood in the clinic and as my hands were full I used my previously surgically worked on finger (left ring finger had an enchondroma which was surgically removed with a bone graft applied in [REDACTED]) to gr ab the door handle to open the door. As I was attempting to open the door something snapped and made a pop sound through my left ring finger down my wrist. I screamed instantly the pain was extreme. Now as I try to tie a tourniquet or put gloves on at work or trying to grab my purse my hand hurts badly and attempts to give out from under me. I went to the ER the same day during my shift had an x-ray and they told me to stay home for two weeks and put me in a splint. Now I 'm filling out an incident r eport.
