What happened
3 employees were moving some large columns out of the shop to be loaded on the outbound truck. They were using carts to help move them as the material was very large and heavy. Once outside the carts suddenly stopped due to the fresh snow causing the material to shift. The base plates of the columns came together and caught employee 's index middle and ring finger of his right hand between them. This caused the fingers to be smashed and the middle finger to be severed near the distal knuckle.
