What happened
The employee was setting up the machine by using the haulers in manual mode to pull the straps attached to the rovings. The employee pulled the straps through then put the machine in automatic mode to run. On strap got stuck on [REDACTED] while [REDACTED] was in motion. The employee reached in to get the strap and placed their left hand on [REDACTED] for balance. The employee 's left hand was then caught by [REDACTED] as it closed to reverse direction. The employee activated the emergency stop to free his hand. The employee reported the incident to the supervisor who took him to the hospital for treatment.
