I was administering SQ insulin to patient in abdomen with donned gloves. after administering medication I then went to retract the insulin needle and got stuck in my left pinky finger. the needle went through the glove and immediately drew blood. I then went to the sink and washed the site for 15 minutes and then followed the blood exposure protocol. patient was aware of needle stick and was not injured from incident.
