IW reports that while rolling a large wheel chair and morbidly obese resident back into the building her finger was injured. IW reports that the resident is greater than 600 pounds. IW reports that her smallest finger on the right hand was caught between the large wheelchair and the door frame.
Injury or illness
W reports that her finger has a superficial abrasion is mildly swollen numb and warm to touch. IW reports that the bleeding has stopped. IW reports that her last tetanus immunization was less than 10 years ago. Protocol recommends being evaluated but IW declined at this time. Therefore the self-care measures were reviewed with the IW. IW was instructed to report if any new worsening or unresolved symptoms occur.
