setting up the #2 measuring machine in Long-V.
What happened
Using the measuring machine the employee was checking the length on some finished belts in the Long - V department. Once he had one of the belts measured without looking he intended to place his hand on top of the pully to stop the coast down of that pulley belt a little faster. Instead he placed his hand (index finger on his left hand) in between the belt & the pulley. In doing this his finger was spun around the pulley and shot out of the bottom of the pulley. The interesting thing about this is that you are not supposed to place your hand on top of the belt pulley assembly for any reason until they have completely stopped rotating and have come to a complete stop. Secondly there should not be a reason to place your hand on the belt [REDACTED] with the intent of stopping if faster since once you remove your foot from the foot pedal that activates the pulley the pulley comes to a complete stop.
