Threading machine after wire break

Team member was standing at the door of cabler 14 stringing up after a wire break. They were placing the cable around the final pulley and attaching the wire to the reel when assisting team member pressed the “thread” button causing the cable to pull tight on their right middle finger. TM treated with RICE and requested medical treatment the following day. TM taken to Occ Med clinic and x-ray showed slight fracture to distal bone. TM given OTC meds for pain instructed to limit pinching with that finger and wear a finger guard to protect against contact. There is no follow-up appointment required with recovery estimated at 2-4 weeks.
