What happened

Employee called me [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] stating he left because he went to the hospital. He stated he was having trouble breathing so he went to his car to get his inhaler and sit down for a minute. I asked him if he had told anyone that he was having trouble breathing. He stated no but he was waiting out front to see if someone was walking towards the building to tell them but stated no one was around. He stated after sitting in his car for a while he was still having trouble breathing and drove himself to the hospital. He stated that the doctor told him he had a chemical burn in his throat and that if he is working around chemicals he needs to wear a special mask that distributes air to him as he is wearing it. I made him aware that he needed to bring whatever medical documentation he had on the situation to HR [REDACTED] and tell them why he had left the night.
