Preparing to weld wire end together to continue processing.

Injured operator was preparing to weld the end of wire to a new coil as part of normal operating procedures. During this task the operator is required to secure both wire ends into welder. The operator hit the foot pedal to the welder to secure the wire in the pneumatic clamp. While doing this the finger was placed between the wire and welder clamp and closed on the finger.
