Preparing a section of casing.

An employee was preparing a section of casing for duplex drilling by inserting a section of drill rod. After partially placing the section of drill rod into the casing and applying the stopper plate the employee began pushing the drill rod the remainder of the way into the section of casing. As he was pushing the drill rod in so the stopper plate would lock in place he caught his left thumb between the stopper plate and the casing.
