Job shadowing another employee and was assisting with tensile testing of material.
What happened
Employee was assisting another employee with removing the gripper head from the tensile machine. Employee placed their hand under the gripper head while the other employee was unscrewing it. The gripper head came loose and the injured employee underestimated the weight and their hand was forced down by the weight of the gripper head. Their index finger was caught between the gripper and the bottom edge of the lower gripper head.
