Cleaning fume extractor

On [REDACTED] Mr. [REDACTED] provided medical documentation to [REDACTED] and reported for the first time a chemical exposure injury that occurred on [REDACTED]. While cleaning the fume extractor on Mill 1 Mr. [REDACTED] reports that he came into contact with water and Caustic Soda at the bottom of the unit with his right hand. He claims he was wearing vinyl gloves at the time of exposure. Mr. [REDACTED] did not report the incident to a supervisor. Water and fluids inside the extractors are maintained at a ph level of 13 by our Waste Water Treatment operators. The reading logs show the levels were consistently within this range at the time of injury.
