Before the incident
Employee was assisting pulling bar material for an order in preparation for coiling.
What happened
Due to lifting equipment not available at the time of the incident bar material was moved by hand. The employee assisted the material handler in lifting a heavy bar out of the storage rack. The employee was pushing the bar on one end while the material handler was prying the bar up on the other end to clear the rack arm. The accident occurred when the pry bar slipped and the other end of the bar bound back while the employee was still holding on to and his left-hand ring finger was jammed between another bar on the rack.
