What happened

At [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] three mechanics were troubleshooting a bottle issue on a [REDACTED] blowmolder after having a blowout. The mechanics put the machine into a blow audit mode where pneumatic energy is present. On the HMI a mechanic actuated the 7bar 40bar blow nozzle and actuated the pre blow air. The blow nozzle was not down. The interlocked door was opened and the mechanic waved his hand between the blow nozzle and mold to feel for pre-blow air. The nozzle came down on his right index finger severing the fingertip.
