On [REDACTED] I called the employee at [REDACTED] to notify about a schedule change (employee is a vacation relief). At [REDACTED] the employee called back stating he didnt know if he would be able to work stating his left foot had swollen up. I asked the employee if was not going to be able in at [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] then he would have to come in [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] to start the vacation relief position. At [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] the employee called back stating that he injured himself at work and wouldnt be able to come in. He then preceded to tell me he was using the hand truck with his right foot and then from [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] and during his shift on [REDACTED] used his left foot. I asked the employee if he is reporting this as a work-related injury which he confirmed and he needs to come in [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] to see the ESS Manager.
