carrying a manual bending cutting tool over his shoulder

employee was carrying a manual bending cutting tool over his shoulder as he was lowering the tool to the ground the tool opened. He reacted by instinct to catch it his right thumb finger went into the mouth teeth of the tool causing the tool to pinch the employee thumb he felt a pinch but continue to work when he felt his glove wet he removed gloved and realized and noticed the blood and saw his thumb was lacerated.
