EE was manually holding a steel plate up to slide a wedge for a lift truck to gain access underneath it.
What happened
While holding the plate up with his right hand he slid the wedge into position and failed to clear his left hand before letting down the plate which ended up smashing his left index and middle fingers causing lacerations to the top knuckles on both fingers.
