What happened
Patient was jerking during draw. I asked patient to hold still and she said she was. I finished the draw and attempted to put gauze on puncture site. At which time patient jerked again (seemingly uncontrollably. No malicious intent was suspected) and the needle pulled out of her hand went through the gauze and the glove I was wearing and into my thumb.
