employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to
the vehicle hoist.
a) On or about 09/26/88 and at times prior to, employees were exposed to
serious bodily harm from the vehicle hoist in bay number four because
the hoist mechanical safety catch was rusted in the closed position.
One feasible method of abatement, among others, would be to periodically
lubricate the hoist safety latch.
