Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: employees working in entering/leaving the building on the ground floor below were subject to being struck and cut by the heavy sharp pieces of broken glass: a) East Side of the The 4th Floor of the Tower - section's of broken glass had not been removed from the window frame. Observed 12/7/89. ABATEMENT NOTE: ONE FEASIBLE AND USEFUL MEANS OF ABATEMENT AMONG OTHER METHODS WOULD BE TO COVER OR REMOVE BROKEN GLASS.
