Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of %% 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to flying parts: (a) Flying parts from abrasive wheel breakage from doing off-hand grinding using a Sioux bench grinder to grind off welds in the southeast corner of the shop. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to equip the grinder with a work rest which must be kept adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of 1/8

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure that the fan is grounded using a grounding conductor which closely follows the path of the supply

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install a blade guard for the front of the fan with guard openings to be no larger than 1/2
