Section 1-201 (a) of Executie Order 12196 of February 26, 1980: The head of each agency shall furnish to employees places and conditions of employment that are free from recognize hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that: Employees in this health care facility (such as nurses, medical technicians, housekeepers, laundry workers, etc.) working on patient floors, laboratories and the laundry room were exposed to the hazard of being infected by HBV and/or HIV through possible direct contact with blood or other body fluids. Feasible and useful abatement methods for reducing this hazard, among others, are: Address all circumstances warranting hepatitis B vaccinations, identify employees at substantial risk of directly contacting body fluids, and offer all such employees hepatitis B vaccinations in amounts and at times prescribed by standard medical practice; as stipulated by the Center for Disease Control, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, AIDS- Recommendations and Guidelines.
