Section 5(a)(1) Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing of likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to falls: An employee, laborer, was reaching out on the "Doomer" at the edge of the roof trying to cut a piece of sheet metal trim, exposing him to the hazard of a 10' fall. The employee was not protected from the hazard of falls by wearing a safety belt and lanyard, or having some form of fall protection such as a catch platform.
