The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely
to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to:
The hazard of being struck by parcel packages of up to 70 pounds
after bouncing over the 2 and 1/4 inch barrier at the end of the
slide in the Box Line Sort area.  Among other methods one feasible
and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to
increase the barrier height to prevent the incompatible cartons
from striking the Box Line Sort personnel.
